Re: faint aftereffect when recording streaming audio

One of the ways to record streaming audio is to set up a playback channel and a record channel and connect them together. When you do that, you get all the special effects and processing on both pathways. Your problem sounds a lot like my favorite "cathedral ambience" in the playback pathw...

Re: Radio Commercial

There could be a theatrical reason to do that. If you're simulating a country auction where the auctioneer is bellowing into a bad microphone, this could work.

Re: Radio Commercial

A friend asked me to record a radio commercial So you're producing sound effects for a commercial, not announcing a deal at Crazy Eddie's Used Cars. That makes more sense. Even if you do get everything lined up (not that hard), you're still going to have very loud and crunchy sound. Did you try Vie...

Re: Exporting File

Your file is 64bit, If you exported an MP3, it's probably 64kbps (quality), not 64 bit. I would strongly recommend against exporting an MP3 and then converting it to your target format. The sound will accumulate quality damage at each step of the way and may be much worse sounding than you think it...

Re: Noise reduction and too high volume

These interfaces all plug into a computer. I don't remember a computer being part of the rolling stock. Wasn't this supposed to be a better quality video camcorder or separate sound recorder? The original problem was high noise level as compared to the voices. How do two or four microphones help wit...

Re: Passing the ACX test, BUT does it sound any good?

That's your typical condenser 10 KHz peak. People seem to like it. It gives "air". Nope. Sorry. The last time I had a microphone with a 40dB peak in the response, it was broken. If you play that clip into earbuds it's unlistenable and if you happen to also be a young woman, we'd be callin...

Re: Blue yeti and a stand.

I don't know of any good way out of this. You can't have something making clicking noises right next to the microphone. You can help with a noise-canceling headset . That gets the microphone much closer to your mouth than the keyboard, but it's till not going to go away. This is a job for Google. Th...

Re: How to avoid clipping but keep details

1. Adjust the volume of the recording until the Audacity sound meters flutter around -6dB, the Yellow Zone. Yes, that means you need to watch them out the corner of your eye while you're recording. That usually conflicts with the computer noise in the show. That's probably where that fan noise is co...

random pops in my playbacks.
Actually random? Play the same segment and the pops occur in different places?

Re: Blue Yeti Mic, Aud 2.1.0, intermittent cuts in audio

Are the little cuts always in the same place? Like there's always one at the beginning of the third sentence every time ? Or do they wander? If you're conversant in Zooming, can you go in and actually see the little missing holes in the blue waves? This won't work if they move around. http://manual....
