Re: Audacity 2.1.1 Doubling Generate and Effects

The people most likely to have multiple versions of Audacity against the possibility of New Version Instability are exactly the people destined to experience New Version Instability. Just reading this back to you. I'd be more wi...

Re: Possibly corrupted file
The project is expecting a folder called Venita Vinson_data to be very close at hand, like in the same location or folder. Is it? That's where the actual show is. The AUP file is just the Audacity instructions what to do with all the stuff in the _DATA folder. I see a listing called standalone="...

Re: cant hear while i am recording
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording: [X] Playthrough (select) If Audacity points to a valid sound playback device (speakers, headphones), that should do it. I would expect that pathway to have a delay in it. A sound will go to your headphones a beat late after you play it. Are you overdubbing?...

Re: 2.1.1 Crash on startup - Yosemite 10.10.4
I had a tester that rebooted into command line, so It wasn't really running OS-X (that I know of). It was so stripped down (how stripped down was it?) it was so stripped down that the machine cooling went into emergency maximum based on it not being able to tell what was happening. It lost its hooks...

Re: Can I Save This (Your Help Is Greatly Appreciated)
Past the association with CSI, the thing that drives people the most crazy is they can almost make out the words . That's your head working. Audacity doesn't speak English and doesn't know what words are. The blue waves are all just random patterns. Your head also makes it possible to hear sentences...

We're not CSI.
You get into a cycle of problems feeding each other. You could use Noise Reduction to get rid of some of that trash except you need to be able to hear the voice to get noise removal to work. Since you can't hear the voice..... etc.
