Re: ACX check
This is a custom tool specifically designed for audiobook voice work. It's not part of the rolling stock of Audacity effects (yet). LF Rolloff (rumble filter) -- Select the whole clip or show by clicking just above MUTE. -- Effect > Equalization: LF Rolloff for speech, 8191 Length > OK Don't forget ...

Re: increasing depth
Do you still have the record? I'm betting the vinyl was transferred without an RIAA Phono Preamplifier. Music will sound very flat and gutless if you do that. So transferring it again with a good phonograph should clear it right up. Failing that, I think there's an RIAA filter in Effect > Equalizati...

Re: Playback latency with MacBook Pro and Line 6 GX
When I record, the sound is fine, there's no latency or anything. How are you listening? Where are the headphones plugged in? But when I play it back it's out of time. You mean when you play them back they're out of time with each other? The only latency adjustment Audacity has is Recording. When y...

Re: cant hear while i am recording
The blue one is intended to be the entertainment stereo Line-In connection suitable for cassette machines, stand-alone CD players, radio tuners, etc. etc. The instrument (pedals, guitar) cables (adapted from 1/4" to 1/8" should be a cousin of that. As an experiment, I took my scopes and in...

Re: Can I convert a 32-second file to 30 seconds in one stro
Effect > Change Speed. I think that's the one with the least damage because it doesn't try to take the presentation apart and put it back together out of order. It's just speed up the turntable and yes the pitch of the music is going to go up. Try it. If you have restrictions like that, I don't thin...

Re: Echos occurring when audio is exported to iTunes
I'm curious how to get an MP3 without Lame. I think it's still true that Audacity won't create a new MP3 without it. That's a serious anomaly right there, but what happens when you export the work, open it in iTunes and get the echo, and then open the exported file in a fresh Audacity. If it has ech...

Re: sharpening one muffled speaker (of two)
Oh, that's different. We still can't fix it, but it's different. That's what happens to a Skype interview when either the connection is ratty, or, the people on both ends are not wearing headphones. This is what happens when they are. This is an experimental podcast not for publication. http://kozco...

Re: cant hear while i am recording
It's at this exact place you need to get obsessive. Which Pedals? Model numbers? How are they connected? How is the bass connected? Are you using MIDI with another application? Do you have and use Skype? Which Audacity do you have, all three numbers? Audacity > Help > About. Can you point to one tim...
