If you are operating on a highly compressed MP3 file, the Audacity Project could be huge compared to the size of the MP3. So that running out of room thing isn't as odd as it sounds.

Re: more frustrating audacity 2.1.1
There is no "AUP sound file." You are saving an Audacity Project. A Project makes an AUP file so Audacity will know what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder of the same name. The _DATA folder is where all the sound actually lives (in a special format). Audacity may refuse to save...

Re: Removing breaths
You just have to hit RMS higher than -23dB (and lower than -18dB)...after making the MP3. Doing all this at the WAV step will only get you in the ballpark. That's the other reason skimming along on the edge of conformance is a shaky idea.

So if you've been reading the mail, you know that we give the same response to you as to the people trying to record bats conversing. Audacity is perfectly happy managing both if you can get the sound into the computer. Typical microphones won't go either up or down that far in frequency. Everybody ...

I suspect if your name happens to be J. K. Rowling, you might get quite a bit of wiggle. Our tools are ACX simulacrum based on conversations and anecdotal evidence. They weren't designed and coded by ACX, so there's no guarantee that our numbers perfectly match theirs. You could pass ACX Check and s...

The technical part of that is just finding the right instructions. The payment part can be a little more challenging.

That's not the only thing broken. You also have DC Offset. On the left of the top blue wave, you have a black line and a blue one. You're supposed to have only one line like the bottom wave. You will find it very difficult to do sound production with this microphone because each edit and cut will po...

It would make things work at all. This is a Behringer UCA-202. The UCA-222 and UFO-202 also work. The UFO model has an on-board Phono Preamp. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg It's also one of the three hardware devices I certified for Perfect Overdubbing should you n...

There is no wiggle room. First level of ACX acceptance is a robot with a clipboard. It will bounce you instantly if you violate any of the standards. It was designed to relieve the human testers from the constant rejection of people who have no idea at all how to record sound, apparently in their th...
