Re: Skype - Behringer Xenyx 802 Nightmare
You can sub your phone for the Skype machine, but keep in mind that dongle is expecting Microphone level signals (the pink connection), not high-level FX-Send signals. You'll run your phone in overload if it works at all. And that still won't get you Skype unless you run Skype on your phone, or use ...

Re: Skype - Behringer Xenyx 802 Nightmare
my issue is with Skype. It's always the issue. Skype likes to take over the computer and the least painful way around it is to give it a computer to take over. "Likes" isn't the right word. "Demands" is a better one. You're doing this podcast. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/...

Re: Recording Vocals with Audacity (Kind of need help?)
I’m trying to learn how to keep recordings in clear sound quality as well and I’ve been working on trying to understand how to keep things in clear sound quality. Most of the time the problem with home recording ... is the home. Unless you have a soundproofed room or something that will pass for on...

Re: Help with buzzing
The AUP isn't a sound file. It's a text file portion of an Audacity Project. The other portion is the _DATA folder of the same name. I'm interesting in hearing a clean segment of the original problem . Post a piece of that not after you applied filters or effects. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewt...

Maybe it's not a recording problem.
Download and play my 39 second sound test clip. It has no hum.

If you hear hum while it's playing, then the computer is adding hum during play.

Re: Windows 10 will not let audacity work...
Windows has to know about and be able to use all of its sound cards and other equipment before you launch Audacity. Audacity only checks for new equipment automatically when it starts. If the equipment isn't already there and working perfectly, Audacity isn't going to do anything. Can you play Windo...

Re: Complete noob, looking to see if I'm close to ACX standa
Sure. Run Compressor with a higher ratio. If you were using 2:1, try 2.5:1 or even 3:1. Of course, go back to the original shoot and do that, don't layer multiple effects on one track. If this is the chapter you can't do that, then do the compression exercise again at 2:1. Layering effects can be un...

Audacity only sees whatever Windows does. You can leave Audacity closed until you straighten out your soundcard mounts.

Re: Thinklabs version for recording heartbeats
If one of the ideas is to measure blood pressure, getting the systolic point should be relatively easy, many of those noises are within human hearing. But listening for the diastolic point where the beat fades could be entertaining.
