Did you get the graphic where you drag a picture of the Audacity folder into a picture of the Applications folder? I think you can instead drag the Audacity folder into your own actual Applications folder rather than use the graphic.

I can't think why the installer wouldn't work.

I can't tell how much of that is MP3 distortion. Mix it down to mono and make a WAV (Microsoft) out of it and post that. The whole show final isn't in MP3 is it?

Drag-select a six second portion of one of the music files on the Audacity time line. File > Export Selection. Make sure that little clip fails to play in iTunes and then post it here:
