Re: Automatically import raw data files?
This forum is for Audacity 2.x on Mac OS X 10.4 and later. Please state which version of OS X you are using, the exact three-section version of Audacity from Audacity > About Audacity and whether you obtained the .dmg installer or the zip. You're doing something weird, right? I can't imagine a resp...

Re: audacity stops without warning
What's Mediashout? Audacity doesn't play well with others, the same reason it doesn't always like to record Skype or games. If there are two services or programs trying to step on the sound channels at the same time, Audacity may not like that. You could also have Transport > Sound Activated Recordi...

There's Transport > Timer Record. Did you set that by accident?

Re: Need help with editing a sound file
I was going to suggest Noise Reduction, but you don't have the offending sound there by itself, so that wouldn't work.

Re: Need help with editing a sound file
Instead of cutting it out, you can silence it. Drag-select the offending sound and Control-L. You can also paste good sound over it. That's probably your best bet. With that kind of effect, I bet nobody notices. You'd never be able to do that with an opera, for example, but jet noise is probably do-...

Audacity has a feature called Transport > Sound Activated Recording. Turn that off.

Re: Multi channel recording using Behringer xenyx q802USB
If the microphone sound goes back and forth between left and right in Audacity like were expecting, then the mixer, connection and Audacity are OK and it's a guitar problem. If the microphone will not fade back and forth, then it's a connection or configuration problem. This is using a known, good, ...

Re: Reduce Harshness in recording
The performer has a honk in his voice and I tried to gently push it out of the way and bring up the clarity a little (attached). You don't notice any difference unless you compare it to the original. If that will work, I can post how I did it.

Re: Multi channel recording using Behringer xenyx q802USB
Most pickups work just fine into a 1/4" input like on the mixer. Or all the various 1/4" inputs. Remember, this part-way worked already.
Don't fog the issue. Forget the guitar. What happens to the microphone sound when you pan it back and forth?

Re: Help matching acoustics between two voice recordings
You can make this worse. My example sound file is a producer who decided they didn't need that darn ol' studio and they were going to record at home. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/EchoSample.mp3 This person will always sound like she recorded in her mum's kitchen. There's no filters for that,...
