Re: Multi channel recording using Behringer xenyx q802USB

overdubbing is the easiest.
Yes. You can become an orchestra with a USB microphone and computer sitting in the middle of the floor with overdubbing. No other equipment needed.

Re: Newborn narrator

You have a good narrating voice and I don't think anyone would complain if you recorded the work exactly as you appear in PJTest2. Sometimes you have to know when to stop helping and get on with it. I haven't thrown any cold water on you in a while. It's perfectly natural to get better as you go thr...

Re: Newborn narrator

So is that last 120HzTone attachment the sound from the Test2 I sent? It is not. PJTest2.wav is clean and practically perfect in every way (thank you Mary Poppins). The tone interference problem was typical of the earlier test clips. I see reading that back I wasn't clear what I did. Note that nowh...

Re: Newborn narrator

I didn't get the "Eureka" moment from you, so I made a short clip with 120Hz tone flashing on and off. Yours will be constant and lower volume. It's not easy to hear, but I have no trouble hearing it behind your voice in the clip.

Re: Newborn narrator

Another note. The last abbreviated list of ACX sound corrections is only going to work if you can find and get rid of that motor sound.

Re: Newborn narrator

I made a different sound by simulating a rock band microphone and its "presence peak." It's just slightly less muffled. I couldn't get rid of the small room honk. Enclosed is the curve. I did notice that when I tried to increase the crispness of the delivery, some of the "S" soun...

Re: Editing a pre-recorded track

I don't know that you can smash record into or over an existing track, but Audacity 2.1.0/2.1.1 will let you start recording a new track anywhere you wish. So you could start an overdub session in the middle of the song and then manage the new separate rack in post production editing. Left to its ow...

Re: Newborn narrator

Oh, right. The equalization. There is a tool that's supposed to convert existing tones and sounds into correction values, but I can't get it to work. So I'm trying by hand.

Re: Newborn narrator

You're welcome, but can save that until you get the first chapter in the can. You should certainly continue investigation until you figure out where the majority of the noise is coming from. If it is the air conditioning, you're going to run into the same problems that Ian had. Ian is currently the ...

Re: Speaker Feedback From Concert Audio

I feel kind of dumb for not being able to fix them You shouldn't feel dumb. Chances are good nobody can fix them. Any posting with the words "Clean Up" or "Concert" is usually the kiss of death. Recording a concert is difficult for the big kids. It takes special microphones, att...
