Re: Unable to record using a Blue Yeti (USB)
Just like the millions of Yeti users, my mic has a light. When the microphone is muted, it flashes. I wondered. That's not entirely obvious from the literature. I get an high pitched sound in the background. The Yeti Curse. Actually, that's a clue. You only get the Yeti Curse when the microphone is...

You don't have to wait that long. Do both sides work and produce a sound recording? If you can't get both sides to work now, there isn't going to be a game.after our first game Friday night

Re: How much better is a CD rip of a song for vocal removal?
It will always be better, but the question is how much better and if the improvement is audible. That depends on who made the MP3, the quality setting and how many conversions it's been through in the middle.

Re: Unable to record using a Blue Yeti (USB)
Does that mean I have to plug/unplug the microphone forever until it works, everytime I want to use it? No. Yours is broken. We're just flopping around trying to figure out why and how to fix it. What we expect to happen is you plug in the microphone and give Windows a couple of seconds to "fi...

Re: How can I improve the quality of my mp3?
Or if you must have MP3, it will help to use a higher quality setting or higher bitrate (kbps). In short, don't fall in love with the file size. If you try to make a new MP3 in Audacity with the same tiny file sizes, the quality of the sound will suffer. The choices are to use an uncompressed forma...

Re: How much better is a CD rip of a song for vocal removal?
The drums vanished because they were in the stereo middle of the show along with the lead singer. Vocal Removal used to be called "Center Pan Remover" because that's what it did. It removed everything in the left-right center of the show. It still does, but Vocal Mover in Audacity 2.1.0 an...

Re: How can I improve the quality of my mp3?
You can change the sampling rate with the little number in the lower left of your edit window. That will change the quality of the file, but won't change the quality of the sound. We warn people repeatedly not to use MP3 in production. MP3 is a delivery format after which no change is possible (exce...

Please note I didn't try to talk you out of doing the show like that. I think it's a terrific idea.

You should focus sharply, intently and at great length on making or moving the show to a studio. Nothing kills recordings faster than echoes and reverberation from the walls in a room. There is no Echo Removal. Once you have a live room sound or actual echoes, you're dead. http://kozco.com/tech/auda...

Re: Anyone have luck? External USB Sound Card w/double mic-p
Here's what I have Terrific. The connections on the green headphone plug are Left, Right and Protective Shield. The connections on the pink microphone plug are Microphone Sound, Computer Battery and Shield. They may look like the same physical plug, but they're very much not wired the same. Scroll ...
