Re: Random crackling only through bluetooth headsets

I know this isn't popular, but wired headphones are recommended for reliable listening. This can be particularly important if you're in audio production and using the headphones for quality control. The instant you throw wireless into the mix, you also involve radio connection problems plus everythi...

Re: Missing parts

Alternative explanation: there is phase-cancellation, (a/k/a destructive-interference) I had one of those. I had a turntable system with the tiny wires on the back of the cartridge. I put them on wrong and went for several weeks before I figured out what happened to the sound. I traced it back with...

Re: podcast recording doesn't sync?? help!

Perhaps it is the other way around..
Perhaps. But 1, 2, and 3 have no trouble at all matching each other. If they had Sound Activated Recording, their individual shows would have a festival of different durations.

This complaint keeps sliding toward somebody playing a joke.

Re: Recording device invalid when importing audio

You're overdubbing right? Recording your own voice over a backing track?

Just as a test. Forget the sound file for a bit. Press Record an make up a drum track with a pencil or a ruler. This will be track one.

Stop. Start recording your vocal. Did it fall apart and where?

Re: help mastering audio for newbie home narrator

When you get done reading a chapter or section, errors and all, File > Export > Export WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit as a perfect quality backup sound file so if something nasty happens, you won't have to read it again. Make a copy of that on a thumb drive or some other safe place. Edit a copy. [time passe...

Re: Is a Warning equivalent to a Fail?

It's worth one more test. The knob on the back is the microphone volume control, right? You said you had it almost all the way down.

Just as a test. Crank it all the way up. What happens to your voice recording?

Re: Is a Warning equivalent to a Fail?

I actually have TWO pop filters in front of the mic. If one is good, two must be better...yes Pop filters are a trade-off between allowing your breath blast through creating pops and bumps, and muffling the delicate fine details of your voice. You picked muffling your voice. If you suffer from popp...

I like the voice. You sound exactly a favorite aunt telling us a story. Perfect story-telling voice. I can force it to work. This is the mastered track and the analysis.
