Re: mixing narration and music
I assume you have both tracks available. Import the voice track and then the music track and they will appear one above the other and play at the same time. Use the Envelope Tool (two white arrows and bent blue line) and the Time Shift Tool (two black sideways arrows) to position the lead-in of the ...

Re: Can I Uninstall 2.1.0 if I Have 2.1.1 Installed
If they both run, I would leave 2.1.0 alone. 2.1.1 has a feature that it will not remember equalization curves from one instance to the next. This feature can flush a lot of work if you're not careful. I'm using 2.1.0 for day to day use until 2.1.2 comes out with the fixes. If you need one of the ad...

Re: Distortion/interference on Audacity recordings
Self-recording got harder and harder as the Windows version progressed, so if you're used the old way, you won't recognize the new one. If the missing blue connector is the problem, we have found a convenient work-around in the Behringer UCA-202 or one in that family. the UFO-202 has a built-in RIAA...

This is probably down to Windows trying to help you do a conference with Windows Enhanced Services.

Re: How can I improve the quality of my mp3?
m4a file bitrate: 96 kb and a mp3 file with the same bitrate. The main difference between AAC and MP3 is AAC supports copy protection. MP3 is part of a video format, MPEG1, Layer III designed in 1991. It was the first successful general-purpose audio compression system and it had no talents beyond ...

Re: How can I improve the quality of my mp3?
Let me read that back to you. If the quality of your mix is bad because the volume of your MP3 is wrong, I can make the MP3 louder and solve the problem. There are certainly programs out there that can cut and manage MP3 files without the sound damage increasing, but they never get better sound qual...

Re: Unable to record using a Blue Yeti (USB)
Maybe the USB ports of this computer give barely enough juice to power the mic? That's my guess if I had to make one. Pre-baked headphone amplifiers and lighting manager chips inside the microphone will run from floor sweepings, but I'm betting the Analog to Digital converter is more particular abo...

Yeah the guys are in the process of acquiring individual mics, sound-proofing as much as possible and that sort of thing. Those guys or you guys? Individual mics can be very entertaining. Now you need a mixer and minimum spacing between the performers. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/CharlieRose...

Postings never last this long if there is a useful response.
So I'm going with no. Most of the forum elves have all we can do to keep up with the questions on the forum. Most of the posters are only interested in getting their audiobook published.

Re: 3rd time not the charm: No volume exporting mp3
Today, when I exported my project to an mp3 file For the first time ever? Save the project. You know it didn't have sound because you opened it up in a fresh Audacity and it wouldn't play? Does it have the right number of minutes? Was it shorter or longer? Open a fresh Audacity. Generate > Noise: P...
