Re: Is there a way to find all peaks over a set level [-3db]

It's perfectly normal to get to the end of the first book, listen to the first couple of chapters and start over. It's nice that you think applying a little Eq is going to solve your problems, but most people reading at great length for a long time get better at acting. We don't have a filter for th...

Re: 2.1.1 on Win 10 plays only buzz or clicks

I uninstalled and re-installed Audacity and that didn't change anything. It won't. Reinstalling Audacity doesn't reinstall Audacity. In the re-install, it should have asked you if you want to completely start over, delete preferences or something like that. Say yes. If you don't, all of Audacity's ...

Re: Windows to MacBook OS X 10.8.5

Just a note, many people have fuzzy ideas of that Projects are. I hope you don't have a whole pile of AUP files? A project is an AUP project manager file which tells Audacity what to do with all that stuff in the similarly named _DATA folder. You need both and they have to be in the same directory o...

Re: Windows to MacBook OS X 10.8.5

Did you try it? I think the idea is the files should open cross-platform. If you split the program versions too far you may run into problems.

Re: Overdubbing Sync Problem

That's what the Audacity Latency setting does. You play the original track into headphones and then immediately into a microphone while overdubbing. Measure the time difference between them. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity//pix/GTrackEarBuds.jpg http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/superLatencyBefore.j...

Re: Recording Streaming music

Oh, I know how it works. I was just wondering if the result would be any better with the CD ripped version. i know the drums would still disappear, but would the quality be a bit better as opposed to the MP3? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=284287#p284287 — VoodooMystic Isn't ripping ...

Re: Unable to import large (500MB) WAV files

I've got 3GB of free space available on the local drive. I go not enough. 30GB maybe, not 3. Audacity imports sound files in a very high quality internal format. It's not 500MB any more, it's quite a bit larger, and the first time you perform effects, the internal size doubles and triples. 30GB. Or...

Re: Is there a way to find all peaks over a set level [-3db]

Just to be clear, the 3.2dB value while the show is high quality WAV is so when you do convert to MP3, the final MP3 doesn't go over 3.0dB. MP3's job is to reduce the file size while making the show management and manipulation inaudible. Full Stop. Nowhere is it written that the files have have spec...
