Re: Vocal removal on documentaries
Vocal Remover won't remove stereo voice. So if the producers of the piece thought it would be a terrific idea to add a little theatrical (deep) stereo to the normally plain, centered voice, the voice will vanish, but not the stereo effect. Also, as you noticed, unlike songs which tend to play music ...

Re: Strange waveforms in Audacity
I could not figure out where you were getting phantom powered microphones from. Microphones 6 and 7 in the drum kit are phantom-powered, condenser microphones. Condenser microphones have a booster between the super delicate condenser sound pickup and the cable. That's what the phantom power is doing...

Re: What headphones best for editing? Regular or studio?
The critical reviews of the Sony MDR-XD100 have to do with cheap materials and poor head seal. One or two complaints about low bass response. I saw only one complaint about the sound quality.
They appear to be discontinued.

Re: Last part of my mp3 file imported in is missing
No. The full show is importing but the last 33 minutes is damaged. The timeline goes all the way to 2 hours 18 minutes. Right? That's very different from the whole show stopping dead at 1 hour and 45 minutes. Do you have enough hard drive space to do the import? Audacity will not edit an MP3 file. I...

I'll be running right out to get one.

Re: Can you import a .15 file back into audacity?
Windows? Which one? Which Audacity? Audacity will not let you export Something Else if you're missing the lame software. It should just say "I can't find lame, do something else." Since you're on Windows you may not know what kind of file you actually have because Windows aggressively hide...

Re: Created a new vblog for our production company
I thought I recognized it. I like the presentation and the formatting and voice work very well...for the old version of Audacity. Noise Removal is no longer offered in Audacity as of 2.1.0. Noise Removal has been swapped for the newer Noise Reduction. That was a terminology item you scrambled in the...

Re: Last part of my mp3 file imported in is missing
There is no Audacity 2.0. There are 2.0.x versions: 2.0.3, 2.0.5, etc.

The space for it is there, but it's silent?

Re: Hissing on playback
record my Roland V-Drums digital kit directly into mixer How? How do you have it connected? In detail. Pictures work. Noise can be USB problems, but that's not likely in a mixer like this. It can totally be recording levels. There are overload or Clip lights at the bottom of each channel strip. Can...
