Are you connecting with FireWire 400 or FireWire 800? I see it has the option.
You have the limiter off, right?
Does it still do it if you try a recording and playback at 44100 (Audio CD rate), instead of 96000?

Re: Unable to import mp4
I believe FFMpeg should be able to open an AAC file.
Open Audacity preferences > Libraries and see if it "knows" where FFMpeg is. If it offers to go looking for it, then maybe you didn't install it right.

Re: delay in microphone rise while dubbing
The Logitech information seems to suggest that the microphone has processing. The adjustable microphone reduces background noises for crystal-clear chatting. That could either mean it's a directional microphone, or it could mean it's trying to intelligently suppress noises through software processin...

Re: Playback is blank for 1st half, then plays fine for 2nd
I have been recording a 50-minute discussion between 2 people, one present with the computer, the other on speaker-phone. I wonder why more people don't do that. I bet that works (normally) really well. Windows and the sound system know what voices are and how to process them. Don't try singing. Th...

Re: Won't record. Settings appear correct
First, the best bad news. A Google search turns up pages of "I can't get my new-dynex-usb-microphone to work." Followed by: In the manual for this device it says it is not compatible with Windows 7. Which is probably why you can't get the full features working. If you plugged everything to...

Re: delay in microphone rise while dubbing
"Singing" is the phrase that pays. You are probably a victim of Windows Enhanced Services. Enhanced Services tries to process your voice and eliminate background noises while you're speaking either in conference or one-on-one with someone on-line. It hates music. http://manual.audacityteam...

Re: Help for Newbie, Please
Would someone be so kind to suggest how I might clean up some of the louder sounds on this short recording? Certainly. Import the original clear recording in Audacity and either apply Steve's Vocal Rumble Filter or any filter that restricts vocal tones below about 120Hz or so. Effect > High Pass Fi...

Re: Silent Subliminal Audio Tracks
Our problem with subliminals is the lack of authoritative testing procedure. Waiting for six months to see if you really do lose weight or stop smoking isn't going to do it. We need something more immediate like the tests for RMS, peak, noise levels, duration, etc., and there doesn't seem to be anyt...
Re: Playback
If you export the performance it will do that, too.
Use the MUTE and SOLO buttons to the left of each track.
