If you just speed it up, it's going to sound like Donald Duck. If you do a simple Change Speed without the pitch, it's going to sound like an insurance commercial. VoidWhereProhibitedConsultYourLocalListingsYourMileageMayVary.

Re: Exported file has tracks superimposed on one another. He
The forum elves run the risk of arriving half-way through the movie. Let's back up. What's the goal? What's the show? I want to create a show that does...what? Re: Recording with sound detection
If you're talking about Sound Activated Recording, it's job is to save drive space by only recording when your voice is louder than a set volume. All other times it sits and waits. This, for example, is for recording three sentences somewhere in a four hour window. I tried to record with voice detec...

The presence of the metadata export dialog is a setting. Audacity > Preferences > Import/Export: [_] Show Metadata... Unless you tell it not to, Audacity will smash all your audio tracks (stacked vertically) into one show. Click just above MUTE to select a single track or Shift-Click to select multi...

Isn't this the box intended to connect to an Avid Suite with ASIO interface? You know you can compile Audacity with ASIO support? That might help.

Re: File path and extension
I think I know this one. Audacity doesn't do that because the clip you're listening to is not MP3 (for example). It's a personal copy. It's Audacity's own super high quality sound format. It's the same reason that Audacity does not have Clip Info.

Re: Help with recording LIVE show from soundboard
If your device is a Behringer UCA-202 (They're terrific, I have two), the Audacity device will say "USB AUDIO CODEC." It won't say "Behringer." No idea why. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg Connect the USB Device and then start or restart Audacity...
