Re: USB Mic Latency
Effect > Change Speed. Once you determine how far apart they are, it will always be the same correction. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_speed.html Assuming you used WAV or one of the other uncompressed formats, it should be possible to import the work, corrected it and export it again. ...

Re: Audacity closing because of errors when trying to play .
MP3 gets their small files by creating some sound damage. If you edit an MP3 in Audacity and make a new one, the damage will almost certainly go up, sometimes significantly.

And to loop that back to the original question, the patched, repaired show will be slightly lower volume than the original one. Chances are good the original damage happened because the show was too loud.It may be better to amplify to a new peak amplitude below 0 dB.

Re: G Track Latency
It shouldn't. The Samson G-Track was one of the USB sound devices I certified when I wrote the original Overdubbing tutorial. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/samsonGTrackConnections.jpg The sound doesn't go out to the computer and back. That's what causes delays and echoes. It's generated ins...

Re: Can we make autotune more lifelike?
Voice conversions are difficult because not all sounds change. Yes, most of the tones go up, but some don't go up as much and some like "s" and vocal tick sounds don't change at all. That's why simple pitch changes more than a note or two sound funny.

Re: How to listen when recording from USB Device
Set Audacity for Playthrough. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording: [X] Playthrough (select). Then make sure Audacity is playing to your speakers with the Speaker drop-down. Windows tries to capture both recording and playback systems when you plug in a USB sound device. So chances are good Win...

Re: recording guitar on a laptop
You got MIDAS preamps in your unit. I got the older XENYX preamps. The UM2 is the only unit in the product line with older preamps. There's also no shortage of troubles with these units. Behringer has offered software patches and adjustments some of which are not available on Mac. An unpatched unit ...

Re: audacity and windows media player
Audacity can't tell other players what to do. Some songs were recorded with the older "-17" sound standard (why all the Patsy Kline stuff is so quiet) and most of the modern stuff is recorded "as loud as you can make it." You would think the desperation method would be to re-edit...

Leave the headphones and USB connected, but close Audacity. Still have the latency?

Re: USB Vinyl to Computer all sound tinny
This thing looks an awful lot like the Techniques 1200 series. I wonder if one bought the other. If you have skipping, then the skating and tracking adjustments are almost certainly off. That's what those extra dials around the arm pivot do. I think the salesperson recommended a disco needle because...
