I guess you could create one ZIP archive and send that. MyComplexProject.zip. I don't know how convenient that is on Windows. And remember, Windows is going to hide the dot-zip in the filename unless you told Windows not to.

Re: sending AUP file and data file togeather
Audacity projects do not come as "one thing." That's a product request. Send the AUP file and then send the _DATA folder. They'll both play as long as you have the right Audacity or more modern one, and the AUP file and _DATA folder are in the same location or folder.

Re: sending songs that another person can edit
Export your presentation as a WAV (Microsoft) and "somehow" get it to the other party. They import your WAV file into Audacity to make sure its OK, and play it while Overdubbing the new performance. For example adding their piano to your violin. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutoria...

Re: USB Vinyl to Computer all sound tinny
it sounds like you were suffering from a very basic setup problem on the deck. I agree. The shows should not sound odd in normal playback. I use a solution of 500ml drugstore distilled water with one (1) drop of unscented Dawn dishwashing detergent (not soap). I keep it in a Nalgene® High Density P...

Re: Improving sound of live recording for CD
"calibrate your ears". ...To your good quality speakers or headphones. Lots of people trying to mix down a musical performance on cheap speakers. "Hey. Nice CD. Shame about that rumble in the background." "What rumble? I didn't hear any rumble [on my cheap speakers]." ...

Re: Improving sound of live recording for CD
If you have an actual H2, hold onto it with both hands. Original H2s are going for new equipment prices on eBay. Promotion and Publicity is running Zoom now instead of the engineers and product developers and they're producing the H2n. The H2n has Five Microphones!!!!! Do they sound any good? Who ca...

Re: Help ME! Removing Background Noise!
You can use the scratch test to make sure you're recording the right thing.

We're all assuming the performer knew he was being recorded. He did, right?

Re: Help ME! Removing Background Noise!
This is a good as I can do with the new tools (attached). It sounds like you were recording in Denver and the performer was in Philadelphia. Drag-select a bunch of sound you think has nothing but noise for the profile. Then select the whole show by clicking just above MUTE and apply Noise Reduction ...

Re: Improving sound of live recording for CD
You left out the words "clean up." I no longer have such equipment. Or the room. You can make good recordings with low-end equipment in a large, quiet, room; a "studio." However, since they are recorded in a small room and with inexpensive equipment, the overall sound leaves much...

Re: Can't Write/Read Error While Recording
Audacity may be complaining about not being able to write to the space it finds empty. I believe that's what Audacity does when it can't write the live temporary recording files to disk. It's also possible your virus program is protecting you from all those evil AU files. I can't find a FAQ that dea...
