Re: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan & Audacity not working
Make a test recording with your MBP built-in microphone. See attached. Your little microphone symbol should say Built-In Microphone instead of Built-In Input . (I'm typing on a Mini; no natural microphone). The only other moves I can think of is close stuff. I used to regularly get a work supervisor...

Re: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan & Audacity not working
If your work is in mono (one blue wave), drag-select ten seconds of typical stuttering and File > Export Selected Audio. Use WAV (Microsoft). Post it here. Scroll down from a forum text window > Upload Attachment > Browse or Select. If you produce in stereo (two blue waves), drag-select five seconds...

Re: How would you edit the sound of a racing motorcycle exha
I know what happened there. The Wind Suppression works about the same way Steve's rumble filter does. Everything below 100Hz goes away. That can work if you have the average voice or higher, but it just kills Announcing Bass voices, bikes, and jets. I get bass suppression of about 40dB to 50dB which...

Re: How would you edit the sound of a racing motorcycle exha
Exhaust Equalized.mp3 That didn't work, at least on my sound system. Plus just as I was congratulating you for not creating sound damage... you have sound damage. When the equalized work is on your timeline, View > Show Clipping. All those red bars are places where the sound is permanently damaged ...

Re: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan & Audacity not working
I don't use Time Machine You may decide to start after this. If we can't resolve the problem in software and settings, you have no jobs. Installing Audacity doesn't reset Audacity. Audacity keeps its preferences and settings in a separate folder so upgrading is less painful. Unfortunately, that als...

Re: Trying to create binaural beats
Which Audacity version was she using and which one are you using? Did she end up with two new blue waves or only one when she did this? Mono Track will give you one, Stereo Track will give you two. We have unending problems with YouTube videos because they're Frozen In Time and nobody ever goes back...

Re: How would you edit the sound of a racing motorcycle exha
I used the camera wind noise filter during the recording What now? The Wind setting? Not a fizzy thing that goes over the microphones? I wonder how they got away with that. It's usually the microphone itself or the MicPre that gets beat black and blue with high wind noise, not post processing. Is h...

Re: How would you edit the sound of a racing motorcycle exha
That's probably about right. You don't go beyond about 15dB in either direction, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with overload. The goal is to accurately recreate the experience of "being there," so the sound system needs to be killer in both quality and volume. It is, right? You sh...

Re: Skipping During iPhone Message Transfer
do a full anti-virus check. Most anti-virus programs work quietly in the background and for the most part, you don't know they're there. However, they also have an Exhaustive Mode where they aggressively and thoroughly check everything. You know it's doing this because you can't use the computer fo...
