Re: Recording noise getting worse... not better

All we needed is the raw recording. It's damaged. The voice volume is way too low. The background noise level (hisss) is about -62 which is about right for a snowball, but your voice is -40. It should be -6, many times louder. If you haven't changed your announcing style or your physical distance fr...

Re: Amplify effect does not (audibly) amplify - what does it

You could force the effect to reveal itself. Put a song on the timeline, select the whole thing by clicking just above MUTE. Effect > Fade Out. Play it. The song starts out normal volume and fades to dead silence. Somewhere in the song, the system will have to make a decision to "give up."...

Re: Low volume from ATR2100 USB microphone

I personally would do a much longer posting
That's a typo. Longer than ten or twelve seconds will not fit on the forum. Do a much longer recording.

It even sounds like Jarreth.

"Chapter Eighty-Six." She does take breaks to eat and visit the loo, right?

Re: AAC 7.1 possible?

Does FFMpeg claim it can export AAC 7.1?

I note that you didn't say you installed FFMpeg. It's an external plugin program. Did you?

Re: Splitting stereo track

If you watch the data to the left of the tracks, Split Stereo Tracks retains the "Left" and "Right" identities of the tracks even while it's splitting them from each other. Split To Mono give you two stand-alone Mono tracks and either of them will play to both speakers in a music...

Re: Pausing and playing out-of-focus?

Are you after a "Focus Pull" effect like in a movie where the camera zooms into the actor's face? Or maybe the scene is the actor has taken medication and it's starting to kick in and they can't see the screen any more? Give us a bunch more words what you're trying to achieve. The short an...

Re: Low volume from ATR2100 USB microphone

ACX has their own production web pages and instructions, including videos. I don't know that I would finish production the same way McElroy did, but he has the recording basics down. http://blog.acx.com/2014/06/26/how-to-succeed-at-audiobook-production-part-1/ http://www.acx.com/help/video-lessons-r...

Re: Low volume from ATR2100 USB microphone

We do warn people that passing the automated ACX AudioBook Robot only gains you access to the ACX AudioBook Quality Control Human. The human is looking for different things. They're concerned with whether or not you can read. You are simulating a voice actor (I'm assuming you're not already a voice ...

Re: Low volume from ATR2100 USB microphone

OK. Here we go. I isolated your clip by deleting everything before 2 seconds and everything after "away." This leaves just the "six inches" segment (attached 1). Apply Equalize > LF-Rolloff with the "Length" slider all the way up. This is from the filter that you downlo...
