I stopped using Chrome a while back. My laptop would get uncomfortably hot from the multiple modules and intense background activity. The last straw was the financial services web page which tried to prevent me from turning my computer off.
Bye. See ya.
I'm using FireFox.

Re: Recording noise getting worse... not better
Please note the microphone comes in a "U" version. It's a USB microphone like your snowball instead of analog. I know nothing about it. What happened when you temporarily substituted your printer USB cable on your Snowball? We may be able to take this home for the price of a good quality n...

Re: Recording noise getting worse... not better
This is my proposed equipment list. It's a full-on condenser microphone into a real, well-behaved MicPre/Digitizer. It uses a 5 foot microphone cable and comes with a substantial stand. This is the stand I have. I bought the heavier version because I have no idea which microphones I'm going to be us...

Re: Recording noise getting worse... not better
Let us know how the Yeti experiment goes. You may be one of the fortunate people that plugs one in and starts recording work. Meanwhile, I'm testing an analog solution. There is a cheaper version of the setup that appears in the ACX videos. It was designed and built after ACX recorded the video. The...

Re: Spankin' Newbie, Patient help requested......
If the VO job is spoken word, that may be a lot more of a challenge than singing. You can cover up microphone noise, echoes and room noises with singing, but the instant you stop for breath between spoken words, that hissy microphone or rumbling metrobus is going to be right there. We have tools and...

Re: Spankin' Newbie, Patient help requested......
Let me know what you think I'm good with it just like that. Trebor is illustrating a tool to use for phrase by phrase volume changes in the single mix-down. Instead of the I-Beam tool, you select the dual white arrows with bent blue line and that gives you a rubber band to push the volume around no...

Re: Can't Record from Cassette Player
TCM-939 is via a 3.5mm stereo jack No, probably not. It has a 3.5 jack. Nowhere in the instructions does it say this is a stereo machine. Sony isn't bashful about promoting stereo if the machine will do it. I think this is a mono note-taker or voice memo recorder with playback abilities. On to the ...

Re: Spankin' Newbie, Patient help requested......
Am i supposed to do something more? You're supposed to do whatever is pleasing to you or to your client. Your current pipeline is pretty much the basic process for overdubbing/sound-on-sound. Dont' even know what that's called. That's mastering from creating a music master from which all other reco...

Re: Background noise reduction problem
or compression damage : the "raw" file is in "wma" format , which is lossy-compression like mp3. Perfectly correct and I was going to complain about that, too. Whereas WAV (Microsoft, Audacity Default) is close to a universal, perfect, uncompressed sound format, Windows Media Au...
