Re: Folders for export
Sorry, I'm just waking up. You don't use Chains? Chains is the Audacity batching language. You create a Chain for the process you want, point Chains at a pile of files you want to process and go to tea. There is the possibility that Chains does not support Export to FLAC. We should look. http://manu...

Re: Folders for export
I believe Audacity Chains defaults to a sub-folder for safety reasons. If your process fails and Chains automatically deletes the originals, you're stuck. You object to needing to select the originals and deleting them?

Re: Noise Reduction Problem
Can you listen to the clip playing on Something Else? Personal Music player you like? Another computer? I bet the noise is coming from your machine.

Re: Noise Reduction Problem
I think you have playback problems. The clip appears perfectly clean here. Given that it's a theatrical passage, has breathing noises and an off-mic second voice. The actual silence between breaths is in the -60 range which is about right for a Yeti, and it's gentle hiss noise. Prepare a test clip a...

Re: pitch shift
It's the same problem as trying to shift a human voice. All the sounds your face makes do not shift. The touch, the strike, the release and in some cases the resonance of the string shift very little between instruments. If you try it, it will sound other-worldly (or computer-y) You can shift the mu...

Re: Adware appeared after updating audacity
audacity ads appeared in my chrome browser. Ads for Audacity? You didn't save screen grabs of any of them, did you? You can get Audacity from several different places other than the home server and some of them do charge money. If you Google a product, that product's ads will follow you around like...

Re: Audacity + Blue Yeti -> Weird Click Sound. Your Opinion?
The volume controls in Audacity or Windows affect the overall volume of the work, so they're a convenience more than anything else. The one on the microphone could affect the loudness of your voice as compared with the natural microphone noise. That's very different and I would adjust it there. You ...

Re: Audacity + Blue Yeti -> Weird Click Sound. Your Opinion?
Audacity doesn't understand ASIO, so that's not going to work. You're right. That's for latency and delays more than missing data. Stuttering or missing chunks can mean the machine is not keeping up with the performance or there is processing interference. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_re...

Re: Spankin' Newbie, Patient help requested......
If you're doing Voice Overs, some sort of de-clicker and de-esser plugins are essential , IMO. If you do it at home. These jobs will be at a studio. I don't know how many post production services there are, but I assume the production will be missing all the shortcomings of home announcing to a USB...
