Re: Voices distorted
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/noise_reduction.html The last one, smoothing, is a little magic. Too low and Noise Reduction starts to attack the performance leading to wine-glass voices. Too high and Noise Reduction becomes sloppy leaving little chunks and pieces of noise in the show, but work...

Re: Record Off A Audacity File
the whole file plays. If you drag-select a segment of your show and press play (or spacebar play), only that segment will play. If you have many different blue waves one above the other, you can use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to the left to select what you want to hear. You can open sound in a secon...

Re: Record Off A Audacity File

Re: Does recording desktop sound lose quality?
Some methods of self-recording send the sound all the way out to the analog section of your soundcard and then bring it back for recording. That sound has been through analog/digital transitions twice and picks up some damage each pass. Some machines have a technique to catch the sound while it's st...

Re: Record Off A Audacity File
While you have the work selected on the timeline, File > Exported Selected. Copy and Paste work, too. Create a new blank timeline and paste the work into it. In Audacity, you can mark portions of a song with Labels. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html The labels are sticky when yo...

Re: Subliminal Recordings
I assume you are talking about LOUD noise? Yes, but it's misleading. My very favorite pair of earbuds finally bit the big one. One side cuts out on one pair and both crackle on the other. No it's not the connector. I replaced both of those ages ago. So I'm trying to replace them. I bought a new iPo...

Re: Subliminal Recordings
Then, mix that sound with some music, or use the Generate tool to generate some white noise or pink noise and mix with that. Pink or Brown. White noise is a hearing health hazard. OK. You got your track. Now check it. [Booming kettle drum sound] See what the problem is? The work turns into ghosts a...
