Re: Audacity + Blue Yeti -> Weird Click Sound. Your Opinion?
Does it only happen when you're speaking? It's very difficult to hear problems buried under your presentation. If they're frequent enough, ping a wine glass and hold it up to the microphone. That will give a pure tone and it should stay pure until it dies out completely. Anything that's not pure ton...

Re: record from headphones
I want to record skype calls. A Popular Request. Because of the way Skype works, we usually push Windows users off to a software application designed to do that. I can well imagine that in the first case what was really happening was you were recording the computer's microphone, not Skype. Since th...

every time I try to record Try to record what? In detail. Do you get bouncing sound meters and nice healthy blue waves? The left of this illustration is silence (holding my breath), the right, at four seconds, is my voice. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/NormalPlayback-650.jpg That is a tota...

Re: Minimize and Maximize buttons have disappeared
I think it's Desktop > Window > Zoom. That should force a correct positioning of the window. Then you can click zoom again to get a smaller window.

Re: Not Able to Record computer playback
Macs have no natural ability to record themselves. Haven't for years. I use the add-on program SoundFlower.

It's a little convoluted to use, so follow the directions and don't go by gut instinct.

Re: Exported File Size Increase
Quick note when you make an MP3 from an MP3 like that, the actual sound quality of the new show is much more like 24. You get two sound compressions one atop the other. 32 is generally the minimum for mono and 64 for stereo. This quality hit is why we urge strongly against using MP3 for production. ...

Re: How does one reposition the cursor w/o changing anything
You can simulate that with Labels and Select. Put a label at the new potential start point. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html Labels are sticky and a drag-select will try to stick to it. Play will follow the selection, repeatedly if needed. You can delete, move and manage labels...

Re: How to preserve timecode and filename when copying
Audacity doesn't do heritage well. When you import a sound track, the first thing Audacity does is copy the work to its own very high quality internal format. That's why there's no Clip Info. There's no Time Code, either. It transfers content only. It's something of a shock to people coming from vid...

Re: Activating the effects
Audacity doesn't do anything in real time. The effects only work in post production. Record the guitar and then apply the effects later.
