Re: Orphan Block Files / Restore Previous Version
I still have the original audio file that is completely unedited. Gold Star. Is that a WAV file? That may be the only copy of your show. I'd probably put a copy of that on an external drive/thumb drive for extra safekeeping. I think catching Audacity mid stroke like that was not a good thing. Someo...

Re: Where is the "What you hear" setting?
Microsoft stopped supporting it.

There's still ways to do it, but it's not "click here and it works" any more.

Re: Setting Record Parameters?
And before I forget, forward which Audacity you're using, which Windows you have and everything about your microphone you can find. Describe your studio. Which software program was your engineer using?

Re: Setting Record Parameters?
Those are also the settings for ACX-AudioBook should you decide to submit to them. They're not Audacity settings. Those are the sound quality settings you're expected to produce after you announce your work but before you submit to publication. I would buy a large box of high quality cookies for you...

Re: Audio almost disappears throughout large portions of fil
You weren't recording from a lavalier or tie-tack microphone. If this was a camcorder, it sounds like you were recording the built-in microphone by accident. Lavalier microphones can have sound problems, but super quiet, noisy voices isn't one of them. As above, if you can't make out the words in th...

Re: Whenever I open a file all I get is a flat line.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both 2.0.6 and 2.1.1. multiple times with no success. Reinstalling Audacity doesn't reset Audacity. When you install Audacity 2.1.1, it will ask you if you want to reset preferences and settings (or words to that effect). Say yes. This is a 39 second stere...

Re: Click every 1.002 seconds
When I record using my headset microphone USB? Which headset? Also, fill in which Audacity and which Linux. Does it work OK when you're gaming or Skype? You have to ask the person at the other end. You won't hear the problem from your computer. People go for months with a trashed microphone and eve...

Re: Audacity will not open Audacity Project File
If you open your AUP file in your text editor, does it have semi-English programming like this: http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/aup1.jpg Close the editor. Don't let it save anything. This is graphically cleaned up, but it's an actual AUP file I used at one time. If your file is very tiny or has trash...

Re: Audacity will not open Audacity Project File
You should be able to double click the AUP file from a cold start and it will open Audacity and install the show from the _DATA folder. Both of those have to be in the same location or folder for the show to open. They have to match. They both have to have the same basic name.
