Re: Control Audacity via Midi Controller?

Audacity has just enough MIDI support to make it so we can't say it has no MIDI support. I think it has rudimentary file support and that's all.

You can't do production with it. It's not a sequencer.

Re: Can't record properly with AT2020 USB Mic

Can you make it worse? If you turn down the volume control in Audacity, does the volume actually go down, or does it completely ignore you? Does your computer have a built-in microphone? Do a scratch test. Start a recording and scratch the fronts of the 2020 and your laptop microphone. http://kozco....

Re: Possible? Two mics into left and right channel into Auda

Not all computers are cuddly and friendly. I tried to get a computer at work to pass basic, simple sound tests and it wouldn't do it. Turns out somebody left Concert Hall effects running in Windows and it was messing with the Left and Right sound channels.

Re: Possible? Two mics into left and right channel into Auda

The Behringer's goal is to present an analog stereo show (like probably your headphone connection) to the computer and to present the computer's stereo show back to analog. It also has a headphone connection (in the illustration) and is one of the devices I certified for perfect music overdubbing (p...

I could potentially contact them and have them guide me in the right direction Yes, but I predict they're going to point you to the wonders of the Blue Yeti, a cousin to the Snowball. The Yeti is remarkably successful for a large segment of the announcing public. You are expected to set up your Yet...

Re: Recording noise getting worse... not better

I had some "juju" left at Sweetwater after some purchase adjustments, so I bought a C-1 microphone to go with the UM-2 preamp and digitizer. Gale noticed some blue wave damage that the system produced and I haven't blasted free enough time to investigate. I know you have a lot of free time...

Re: Possible? Two mics into left and right channel into Auda

The "mode" to borrow a French term is to plug a headset into your computer and Game, Skype or Chat your brains out. Both Macs and PCs have headset connections now instead of Stereo Line-In and Stereo HeadPhone. The microphone part of the connection is mono and easily overloaded. I bought m...

Re: Setting Record Parameters?

If there's no convenient way to reduce the volume, switch to -10 on the front of the mic. That's intended to be used for very loud instruments, but it does reduce the volume.
