Re: Out of the following 4, which one is the best for the bu
Before you write the check, Google complaints. Or comments/reviews and then only pay attention to the complaints. The glowing reviews are written by the makers and marketers, but the pans, especially if there's a typo here and there and multiple people complain about roughly the same thing, are prob...

Re: Sound disappears from one of the channels
Turn off Norton's "Windows temporary file cleaner" or File > Save Project As... before recording. Make sure you save to a folder that does not have "temp" or "tmp" in its name. Alternatively open Edit > Preferences... from the Audacity menus, go to the Directories sect...

Re: Sound disappears from one of the channels
saved the file in a folder on the C drive under "Public Documents". (I access the folder later to transfer the mp3 to my older computer.) I never did an emergency rescue, the project opens fine, and I don't see any messages indicating that I need to do an emergency rescue. You keep using ...

Re: Out of the following 4, which one is the best for the bu
What's the job? Are you reading for an audiobook? PodCast? Violin practice. Violin practice over Skype? The Yeti is the obvious choice for voice work, but there are comments. There is no shortage of posters on the forum complaining about noisy performances and an inability to make AudioBook Sound St...

Re: Sound disappears from one of the channels
Two-hour mix of music and speech. Approximately 20 channels. After finishing editing exported to mp3 Shut down computer. Nowhere in there did you save the project. Did you, or are you emergency rescuing the project every time you do this? Shut down computer. Started computer four hours later. And t...

Re: How to record from speakers
don´t find how to show it here. Scroll down from a forum text entry window to where it says: Upload attachment. Audacity will not always follow you if you change USB equipment. Restart Audacity to clear the decks. That may also confuse Windows. "Wait, where do you want me to record from?"...

Re: Why can you not record into an existing track?
Classic (old) tape editors had two modes: "Insert" and "Add-On or Assemble." In the Insert mode, you defined a hole in the existing show and the machine would go into and out of the edit at those edit points. It would repeat that forever if you wanted. The first time it destroyed...

Re: 2.06 Ticking sound while recording
Somebody must have waved a magic wand. There are multiple postings from people whose microphone appears to have crashed. If you changed everything, cable, computer, software, and the problem remains........

Re: 2.06 Ticking sound while recording
Audacity doesn't make a 2.06. That's a bogus version. Which version exactly?
Which microphone, which computer type, which cables etc?
Pretend I'm trying to do exactly what you're doing. How would I do it? What is the show?
