Re: recording video as well as sound
Where's the camera? If it's in the computer, then you could have some interesting problems with sound routing because both the video and Audacity are going to try to "step on" the live microphone at the same time. That usually doesn't come out well. If it's a separate camcorder, then it's ...

Re: decibel data logging
It's also the length of time most people are trying to sleep. Radio Shack had a series of actual calibrated sound meters that didn't cost a million dollars, but in the recent reorganization dropped the product. They made noises (so to speak) about bringing the product out again during the fire sale,...

Re: Make gunshots sound more realistic
I get incredulous and scornful stares every time I advocate going out to a field and shoot it.....sorry, record shots yourself.

Re: Make gunshots sound more realistic
We can't take echoes out, so all those samples that sound like they were fired on a closed range, were, and while you can try to take that "recorded in the kitchen" echo out, it's usually an uphill battle (so to speak). Note shots fired in the second example are flat and clean. It's the lo...

Re: Internal Mic Flatlines
Has it ever worked? Does it work in another application like Chat, Skype, games or Windows Sound Recorder?
You may not even need that. Doesn't Win7 have little sound meters in the Sound Control Panels to tell you that everything is working?

Re: Export Multiple Problem
We need to wait for one of the senior elves. I don't know. I would have bet splitting the tracks like that would never have worked.

Re: multiple output devices
If you connect the sound to an amplifier or distribution system like I did, then you can play to whatever you want. I haven't actually adjusted the computer sound in months. It's all external.

Probably not. Audacity comfortably manages one sound device.

Re: listening while recording
You can get Audacity to "turn around" the recorded show and send it back out so you can listen. It will be late and you might get an echo in listening, but the recording should be OK. The catch is, Windows might try to send it back to the turntable instead of your headphones or speakers. W...

Re: Export Multiple Problem
Wait. Weren't they originally all on one track?
If they're all on separate tracks, then each track only has one label. It never hits another one and so the default export halt is the end of the project.
Are we talking about the same thing?
