Re: Strange audio problem

This is a sound test I shot using an Olympus WS-823 recorder. Nobody said you needed two computers.

Re: Strange audio problem

There is an obsessive/paranoid solution. The radio broadcast was double recorded. That's why there are two microphones visible in the picture.

Re: Strange audio problem

I'm on an SSD macbook pro. As am I. No network connection, though. This is an aggressively stand-alone machine. There's no good way out of this I can see. My bad recording is dated Feb 2014 and hasn't happened since. It occurred in my dining room on a wooden table in a comfortable, normal, well lig...

Re: using Audacity as external editor in Ableton Live

Not exactly a pleasant or efficient workflow. It's a common complaint, yes. Audacity is not a WAV editor. It's a sound editor and it will not Save an audio file. It saves Projects. Once you get a Project to sound as you want, then you Export an audio file. So no, it doesn't lend itself to automatio...

Re: More volume needed please

While you had the work in Audacity, it should look roughly like this: http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/NormalPlayback-650.jpg From four seconds on to the right is a normal volume show, roughly 50% up and down on the blue waves and -6 peaks on the bouncing sound meter. You have to pay attention...

Re: Strange audio problem

Programmers have "moon phase errors" where something bad happens every 28 days. This is a locust phase error. Every 5 years.

Re: Help! Blue Yeti high pitch noise

I've never heard of a USB MicPre and analog microphone exhibiting this noise. The feature of providing 48v to a condenser microphone means the MicPre has power processing and that seems to be the solution. I have a Behringer UM2 MicPre and C1 microphone under test. They may have other shortcomings, ...

We should wait for a real Windows elf to straighten this out.

Re: No sound in exported FLAC or WAV - MP3 = ok

While it's in VLC, right-click the file > Get Info (attached). My test is 2 min exactly and it's 21MB. 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. As an experiment, do what I did: Restart Audacity. Generate > Noise: Pink, 2 min > OK. Duplicate (Control-D on your machine?) Track Drop-Down menu > Make Stereo Track. File >...
