Re: Dell Laptop 3520
To unscramble that: You are trying to record from the microphone on your headset. You unplugged the headset and now the only microphone that works is the laptop built-in one. Audacity checks for new devices when it starts. If you connect something after Audacity is already running, it will be invisi...

Re: Everything is set to STEREO but I only got two MONO trac
I inserted its STEREO eighth-inch (headphone type) jack, into the stereo input port of the laptop. Does your laptop have three different connections for sound? If not, then your laptop may be normal and only have one mono microphone connection. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound-6...

Re: using Audacity as external editor in Ableton Live
You can go whichever direction you want, but know there's going to be a sharp divide. Also, do everything in uncompressed WAV (Microsoft), not MP3. MP3 causes sound damage...and it gets worse as you edit.

Microfiber.
They make my skin crawl. I got a bunch of work rags made out of something miraculous and I couldn't put them down. Really. I would let go and they would stick to me in the low western humidity.
Ew.

Re: Exported MP3 audion distorted when played back
Western bandanna. Railroad bandannas are OK, but there's nothing like the real thing. Railroad bandannas are the only ones that come in 27" (700mm) size, though, so if that's the application, we're stuck. 27" RR bandannas fit neatly over a 15" MacBook Pro to keep the dust out, very mu...

Re: Exported MP3 audion distorted when played back
it will not reliably rip all tracks Did you clean the CD? Music players are sometimes adjusted to ignore minor data errors based on most people not being able to hear them. Data transfers can be very sensitive to bit errors cause by dirt, fingerprints, etc. Certain scratches can cause transfer erro...

Re: Recording a PC Language Course
Recording what's playing on the computer should do it. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html That will only give you the recording, not the CD. After you finish recording and File > Export the WAV (Microsoft) sound file (not MP3), you need to drop...

Re: Recording noise getting worse... not better
The AT2020 is a side-address microphone. You should be speaking into the AudioTechnica nameplate, not the top. I just noticed the rear has a tiny label "BACK." Oh, and the foam sock is not made by AT which is why I couldn't find it. It helps with wind, but also makes the performance slight...
