Re: Audio Spliting of Piano Hands

Any hints? Give up? You can totally isolate the notes based on pitch (Effect > high pass and effect >low pass with the sharp split at middle C 256), but you can't isolate the harmonics and overtones. And all the overtones overlap. This is an analysis of one single piano note, G, way down on the key...

Re: Heavy noise I can't seem to reduce

Santa WILL be bringing a new camcorder for Christmas! Don't call the newspapers just yet. We get postings from those people, too. "I can't hear the vows on my new CamCorder/Cellphone Movie Recorder, what should I do?" People see amazing, super quality zoom lenses and automatically assume ...

Re: playback volume increase during recording

Are you singing into a microphone? Recording YouTube? How many times has this happened? Some computers have effects in the playback system and that can cause odd sound that doesn't become part of the show. I don't know of anything in Audacity 2.1.1 that can cause this Audacity does not apply effects...

Re: Casette player to laptop connection

That's a stereo, bi-directional USB adapter. Behringer UCA202. It's not a conversion from anything else. That's its job. You may need to resize your browser window. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/UCA202.jpg You're supposed to be connecting a microphone to your computer for conferencing, chat, Fa...

From the upper desktop. Go > Computer. Control-Click on your system drive (usually the top listing) > Get INFO. What are the Capacity and Available numbers?

Attached is a screen grab of mine.

Re: Preview and Apply Multiple Effects

Normalize and Amplify are both volume controls that pay attention to the blue wave peaks. They have slightly different talents. Normalize can change volume different for left and right in a stereo show for example. They're not doing anything particularly magic.

Re: Heavy noise I can't seem to reduce

This is the best I could do (attached). I found a gap between words (say 1.1 and 1.4 seconds on that clip) and used that as the Noise Reduction Profile. Then select the whole clip and noise reduce with 18, 6, 6 reduction values (Audacity 2.1.0 or 2.1.1). Any more than that (the first number) and the...

I'm pretty sure there wasn't/isn't a 0.6.1. Get the latest Mac version (2.1.1) from here.
