What are you recording? For example:
"I'm recording me playing the guitar into a Blue Yeti USB microphone."
You can't give us too much detail.

Re: Help: Mio iconnect to windows
the laptop is recognising the signal. Yes, but the signal isn't sound. Audacity doesn't know what to do with the MIDI signal. If you use the MIDI signal in the computer to tell the computer's MIDI interpreter which instruments to play and how, now it's sound and that you can record in Audacity. Koz

This is the thing on labels, but it doesn't say anything about auto labels.

Re: Large audiobook Download to CD-R
80 minute segments This doesn't work the other way, either. "I want to listen to my CD AudioBook while I'm hiking." Import the work into Audacity. The brute force method is set Audacity to place a label every 78 minutes. I need to look up how to do that. Nobody gets 80 minutes on a Music ...

And there's always overdubbing. My favorite home performer Josh Turner (not that one, the other one) works miracles with overdubbing. I think his record is four instruments and two vocals on the screen at the same time...all him. He has a video recorder and an H2 sound recorder. Full Stop. It's a go...

Re: Recording Several Tracks Simultaneously With 2 USB inter
Either of us on the right track? The shift from an insanely simple, single USB microphone to two or more is very serious. You can force a computer to record two USB microphones, but it doesn't like doing it very much. Three is mixer territory, or multi-channel recorder. Once you hit three, all the s...

Are you doing something that another tool can do? If you're analyzing an audiobook recording, there is ACX-Check which gives you the three audio specifications that ACX requires.

Re: Auto split dialogue file, no cut in 1/2 words?
Gates are notoriously unreliable. Ask anybody that has ever tried to automatically split a phonograph recording into songs.
That wouldn't work for you anyway, because there's no way to steer a gate to the five minute mark that I know of.

Re: creating 2 separate tracks
Sure. Stereo is just two separate sound tracks that by convention are related, but they don't have to be.There are USB microphone adapters that naturally record that way. Microphone one appears on the left and microphone two appears on the right. You can do whatever you want with the two microphones...
