Re: Trying to get drum signal through Alesis D4 and into Aud
signal is exiting Alesis from MIDI-OUT via MIDI-to-USB cable adapter into USB port in back of desktop. It's nice that it's doing that, but Audacity doesn't speak MIDI. Audacity needs sound and MIDI isn't sound. I've been known to adapt the headphone connection of my keyboard to either my laptop dir...

If you post enough times, forum moderator delay goes away and your posts appear immediately. that annoying metallic noise. Listen to the mixer without the computer connected. Does it still sound like that? Cut and File > Export: WAV (Microsoft) 10 to 15 seconds of mono distortion. "Test one, tw...

Re: Using audacity and a Citronic CM6
The red lining problem only occurs upon connection to the laptop. If you really offended the sound gods, your laptop is trying to send headset sound back up the cable. The sound meters are a combination of the two shows—grossly overloaded. Reeeeealy. Not kidding. Stop doing that. Use the green PAN ...

Re: Using audacity and a Citronic CM6
That's two of the three problems.

Re: Using audacity and a Citronic CM6
Any thoughts? Yes. Stop doing that. It's possible your laptop can switch between microphone and stereo line, but many can't. Dig in your instructions or the laptop setups. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/LaptopMicIn.pdf I shot a sound test using just about what you have. I have a Mac with a ...

Re: Using audacity and a Citronic CM6
How do you connect to the laptop? That can be a very serious source of odd sound. It's not clear what the USB connector on the mixer does. It's the "wrong one" for connecting to a computer.Citronic CM6 Mixer into Audacity on a laptop.
