Re: I NEED HELP, nothing is recording!

installed the lame.dll thats needed to record
Lame isn't needed to record. That's the software that makes an MP3 after you're done.
I don't remember my Audacity 2.1.1 doing that.....

Re: I NEED HELP, nothing is recording!

We may need to wait for a Windows elf to help. The BM-700 appears to be an analog microphone. How do you have it connected to your computer? USB microphone adapter? They obliquely tell me in the instructions that the microphone needs phantom power, so is there a box in the middle you left out? The c...

Re: Recording from two mics using a mixer

There's notes for that, too. You should probably record split for a while until you become the master of your craft and your equipment. When you start spending less and less time correcting the working in editing, you may decide to do one "live" with everything smashed together. Or you may...

Re: I NEED HELP, nothing is recording!

What's the microphone? Type and model number?

What's the show? AudioBook? Music?

We live in good rich details.

Re: Recording from two mics using a mixer

give both ways a try
If you mean both the USB connection and the Mic-In connection. Don't bother with the Mic-In connection. That socket is intended for microphones only and it's specifically designed for computer microphones. It will damage and distort other connections.

Re: Audacity cannot hear the audio from the cell phone

What he said. If the voice is coming out of the laptop speakers , then it's in the computer and we just have to convince Audacity to record it. You change Audacity's recording pathways with the Device Toolbar. What does yours say? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Any luck wit...

Re: Newbie needs help with fixing saturated audio

We can go through the process of posting a sample clip and then we inspect it, etc, etc, but overload/dense/saturated is one of the errors with no recovery. Try it. Drag select a ten second segment of damaged audio (I assume mono, right?) and File > Export Selected: WAV (Microsoft). Post it here. Fr...

Re: Metadata Editor -- Copy "Title" into "Album"

Makes you wonder why?
It was the only free graphics/screen manager module available? A number of oddities can be traced back to problems like that. "Oh, that's an odd characteristic of the open-source yadda-yadda module we used."
