Re: STEREO MONO AND OVERDUBBING

You didn't tell us what your interface/device is, but I bet it's something like a Scarlett 2i2. It's a stereo device, but it's really two channel forced. It's not a mixer. Whatever you plug into the left-hand connector is recorded as left and you're pretty much stuck that way. Some devices have the ...

Re: Newbie needs help with fixing saturated audio

This is what Audacity looks like to do that. You may have to zoom your browser wider or scroll to see the whole thing. That's what the John-Noel track looks like with the volume dipped with the Envelope Tool, two white arrows and bent blue line. That makes a hole for my translation. http://manual.au...

Re: Newbie needs help with fixing saturated audio

This is a John-Noel segment heavily edited. I know some of it doesn't make sense in either English or French. Listen to the narration rhythm and flow (attached). You can do all the French you want if you overlay the translation like that.

Still can't rescue the saturated sound, sorry.

Re: Podcast Audio Quality Feedback

but man is that gain noise LOUD. And that sentence right there means Something Is Wrong. Are you readjusting your speaker volume down as you crank the volume up inside the mixer? Is the speaker system going through that processor? It's not recommended, but it's possible to do a show and assuming yo...

Re: Podcast Audio Quality Feedback

There is one other possibility. Are you sure all the Windows programs and services are turned off? I got a new computer from the IT people and I could not make it pass sound quality control. Turns out they left Cathedral Effects running in the playback system. So everything sounded like Notre Dame. ...

Re: Podcast Audio Quality Feedback

my logic was to set the mixer up with the minimum gain and volume settings required to get a signal. That will give you the most noise. The electronic noise (That's FFFFFFFF, not the room noise) is more or less fixed. The object is to keep making the voice louder and stop just before anything overl...

[Voice Under - Announce] "My horse is good company in the long days spent harvesting the crops even if he eats some of it along the way." That presenter can be any man (in this case) with a good microphone, well-behaved computer and quiet room, anywhere on earth. Watch. I'll do one right ...

Re: Newbie needs help with fixing saturated audio

You'd be stuck with two separate voice tracks. Trying to do simultaneous translation with a mixed track, while not impossible, would be a months-long nightmare.

I'm at 6 minutes in Episode 8, The Grape Harvest . I would love to stick with you, but my French is limited to politely inquiring about the rain pouring on the library of my aunt. "La bibliothèque de ma tante..." In My Opinion, you should, in the case of the grape farmer with the horse, do...

Re: Recording volume too high!

having an audio interface such as UCA222 should solve the problem no? Yes. The UCA222 and its cousins count as a different soundcard. It's true that the UCA series is missing volume controls. That's one reason they were so cheap. How do you have them connected? It's normal for them to be a little o...
