Re: Importing MP3 gives flat line

You do have to keep that straight. MP3 files import, AUP files open. You can also double click on an AUP file and if it can open, it will. When was the last time you restarted the machine? I make it a point to do that at least once a week when I do my backups, updates, etc. I use 2.1.0 because I cus...

Re: Matching Microphones

Is there any way to get the echo/reverb/tinnieness out of the shotgun to get it close to the lav? We can do the tinniness, but not the echo. There is no removing echo/reverberation. I'm still counting microphones. Zoom says in Big Letters Portable 4-track Recording , but what they mean is the two m...

Re: Export Audio only allows AIFF

So you don't get this listing (attached - scroll down)? This is Audacity 2.1.1 on Mac OS-X 10.9.5. Did you actually install Audacity, drag the Audacity program folder into your /Applications folder? You can get some really strange actions if Audacity isn't really installed and is running from inside...

Re: How can I record two microphones at once?

You could try the "Y" cable, but you're not just combining the two voices coming down the cable into one, you are also splitting the power that the computer supplies up the cable to run the microphones. So the microphones are struggling to run at half-power and then their volume is half wh...

Re: I seem to record unplugged speakers...

Audacity doesn't like running with other sound managers...like games. You may get crazy connection and pathways , or you may get one recording, but it will refuse to do two or more. We've been recommending FRAPS as a game recording software package that "knows" how to manage multiple game ...

Re: I seem to record unplugged speakers...

I'm trying to record some gameplay footage... Most people are trying to record gameplay footage and their voice . If that what you're doing? It's probably good to know which Windows, which game, and which Audacity, all three numbers. Laptop? And what's the job? "I'm recording gameplay commenta...

Re: pro audacity

I think you should capture in Audacity and edit in Audition. Nowhere is it written you can't have two editors. I have two. I wouldn't run both at the same time. Audacity doesn't like that.

Re: Setting up my AT-LP120 Turntable with my Macbook + monit

You should be very careful of your English words.
start playing my records through all of this using Audacity 2.1.1 software.
And that's all you want to do? Play records to the speakers? Not record anything?

Re: Projects, tracks & songs

Audacity uses Labels for File > Export Multiple. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html So, if you put a label at the beginning of a single concert and one half-way through. Export Multiple will produce two sound files. Labels use beginnings, so the second label is really the beginni...

Re: clipping problem with soundflower

Maybe you should to tell us a ton more about what you're doing?

Which OS-X? Which Audacity (all three numbers). Where is the show coming from? What's the goal?
