Re: Noise Reduction/Removal
Maybe the undiscerning audio book listener won't notice the hum?! ... They may not. But ACX will. Or the Robot will get there before human Quality Control. We simulated what the robot is going to do with Will's compilation testing tool called ACX Check (if I haven't mentioned that already). It's a ...

Re: making the perfect loop
There's basics about editing. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/quick_help.html I found it handy to turn off Screen Update while I'm editing (but not during recording). That's so Audacity doesn't rip the edit screen away from me at the worst possible time. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Tracks: [_]U...

Re: making the perfect loop
What I would do is duplicate the track (Control-D) and slide the duplication later in time with the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows). Audacity will play both tracks unless you stop it, so you can drag-select the junction between them, Zoom into it (Control-E) and spacebar play that until ...

Re: Garbled audio in playback with Macbook
You are measuring just your processes not all of them. Note in my illustration, I had it set to All Processes. Does this tell you anything useful with Audacity? That's the super-duper high speed internal memory and that looks normal. If you start getting 4GB left on your system drive , that could be...
Re: no sound
And it's almost exactly the same process to record from a musical keyboard. My keyboard has no Line-Out, so I use the headphone socket as you were doing. In that case a "Y" cable is needed because as above, a slight delay isn't a big deal if you're recording records or tapes, it's a show-s...

Re: Garbled audio in playback with Macbook
I don't think I always used Quit. I used to regularly get a manager out of trouble at work by actually closing all the applications he had "napping" in the dock. Also to be clear, There's no guarantee closing (or uninstalling) Google Chrome is going to solve the stuttering sound problem, ...

Re: Replacing one labeled audio region with another
Make that Paste Region without drag-selecting it. Yeah. I got there, too in 2.1.1. That tool isn't mentioned in any of the documents.

Re: Replacing one labeled audio region with another
I'm out. You need someone a lot more into the minutia of labels, selections and regions than I am.
It really doesn't matter where you got the audio from, you want to Paste Region.

Re: audio-technica at-lp2d not recording
You didn't say USB, but all the machines in this grouping are. Plug the turntable in and let it and Windows get used to each other. Then start Audacity. Audacity checks for new devices when it starts. You can also Transport > Rescan later. Select the Audacity Device Toolbar and select the turntable ...

On fourth reading.
If you drag-select a portion of the source track, Copy and Click > Paste it into the target track, you don't get the sound in the target track?
