Re: Possible to sound better?
The overall sound quality and clarity is much better with those new settings. There's just a hint of P popping and breath noises. You may get rid of that by backing away from the microphone just slightly. I think your intelligibility improved too, possibly because you're speaking a little slower. Yo...

Re: Need help with recording level
When I did my Skype/Podcast experiment, I played show music (intros, outros, themes, bumpers, stingers, etc) from iTunes in the computer into a sound mixer. At the same time one output of the mixer (the show) was going the other way back into the computer to be recorded in Audacity. You do have to p...

Re: Audacity randomly cutting commentary
De-select Sound Activated Recording. Make sure you have your microphone settings high and turn off all the Windows sound tools and services. Make sure the Audacity recording controls are turned up. A good recording has the sound meters bouncing around -6 or so on the recording sound meters. If you h...

Re: Audacity randomly cutting commentary
You can get that if you use a USB microphone because they like to record low level. And you have Edit > Preferences > Recording > Sound Activated Recording selected.

Stop using your computer's pink Mic-In connection? Unless you have a really special machine, Windows computers don't have good (or any) stereo recording connections. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound-650.jpg The Mic-In connection is usually mono, many times pink, nearly always ver...

Re: Noise in recordings
In some cases, the Audacity Buffer setting can be changed to help strange audio noises.
Audacity > Preferences > Recording > Audio...Buffers.

Mac mini via a Thunderbolt connection...What am I doing wrong??? Thunderbolt? That's the same vintage machine as mine. I rather like the analog connections (I know this is the MacBook Pro illustration). http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg Unlike many Windows machines, the Mac a...

Re: Record audio while using another screen recorder
Audacity doesn't Play Well With Others. Two sound programs running on the machine is Not Good.
Audacity doesn't apply filters and effects in real time so probably the best bet is let Bandicam do all the work and patch it in Audacity later.

Re: Possible to sound better?
The posted examples are better than you think. They're very different. I liked the first one because past the good quality and clear voice, he seemed to be really excited about the game and he knew how it compared with other, similar games. He pulled me into the game with him. I have crystal clear m...
