Re: Slim down the Click Track interface

Jazz Piece for Piano, something like "4:08" that lasts 4:08 min. In my opinion, we should not be designing software for one person, somewhere, who sometime in history needed a custom click track. B Flat, Teutonic Glockenspiel. It's probably at that exact point we split generating a musica...

Re: No waveform activity. Whatever I try.

RCA/minijack from Zoom output to desktop input.
If you plug headphones into the output of the Zoom in place of the computer, are you in fact sending sound? My Zoom needs to be either "Armed" or "Recording" to send sound.

Re: Blu-Ray with FFMpeg reading m2ts

There is an old trick we used to use with DVDs. If we started to run out of room for the stereo PCM track, we would create a 2-track "surround" AC3 and put Left and Right on that way. That's perfectly supported and players would default to that if they couldn't find the uncompressed PCM tr...

Re: recording sound tinny

We can't go anywhere with that. Not enough information.

Start with which Audacity (all three numbers) and which Windows.

Days, or have you been using it for several years and it's an old friend? Which Windows? Neither Audacity nor Behringer changes volume levels like th...

Re: command to find loudest sample in selection, possible?

It places a label at the position of the greatest amplitude.
And if it hits more than one?

Re: Need help with recording level

I need to post when I get home with my notes. Do have Windows 20dB boost set by accident? Windows has the oddity of being able to change the volume of a USB data stream...and not tell you.

Re: command to find loudest sample in selection, possible?

Audacity will not let you "back out" of the effects, but you can duplicate the show and only use the top show as the indicator. After you find the point, work on the bottom show and delete the top one. If you think Zooming is time consuming, maybe you're using the wrong tools. I only ever ...

Re: command to find loudest sample in selection, possible?

How about we use existing commands? Select the whole performance by clicking just above MUTE. Effect > Amplify: OK. That should snug the whole show up against "0" as much as possible without actual overload or damage. View > Show Clipping. That should produce one red band in the timeline a...

Re: Possible to sound better?

I like to listen to Sarah Vowell audiobooks. She has a slightly odd presentation, too. But she just takes her time with pronunciation. After a while, you just get used to it.
