Re: Pink Noise
my VU meters have 0Db, +6dB etc Analog VU Meters. You can do that, but you have to decide where zero is. Zero calibrate point on the analog VU meters translates to something lower than zero in digital. Common digital doesn't go over 0. In digital, 0 is the smash, crash, overload point. Let's see. D...

Re: Clicking While Recording Every Two Minutes
listenign to streaming radio, which translated when recording it. In other words, it started skipping when the machine had to play and record, in real time, at the same time. I can understand that. Computers are time share devices. They don't do real time anything. Getting one to perform two differ...

Re: How can I download hardlimter effect for audacity
If you are using Audacity 2.1.1 (current), you have four different limiters available including a hard clipper (attached). If you want to surgically whack off the peaks of a performance, Hard Clip should do it. The Limiters try to maintain good quality sound while they're working.

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
I need to sit with the samples and see what's happening. Yes, you noticed I split your voice and sound quality away from the technical specifications. Since there's gaps in the forum activity, you can work on one while we're wrestling with the other. I have some puzzled looks because of your ACX-Che...

Re: Clicking While Recording Every Two Minutes
Two minutes is still rough. There are no natural two minute errors or events. The Snowball isn't broken and in my opinion, sending it back for an exchange will gain you zero. What's broken is the interaction between this microphone type and your computer. It's very common for someone to plug their m...

Re: Clicking While Recording Every Two Minutes
That's a little disturbing right there. It's not like this microphone has billions of options. There are only three I know of, and they're hardware switch selected. That means this is a generic USB sound device. If each individual device on earth needs to be explicitly supported, the phrase "a ...

Re: Pink Noise
You can't generate pink noise at 0. Noise is a rumply fuzz ball not one constant thing. Some of it goes over the specified value. You can't go over 0 (outside of Audacity), so that's the end. We've been using tone for decades. A-440 is a favorite. That's the oboe tone at the beginning of the orchest...

He has a snowball, not a yeti. Both microphones tend to be sensitive to their computer and connection.
