Re: WAV File passes ACXCheck, MP3 doesn't. Wondering why?
Bad noise reduction can sound like hissy words or words with noise tails or "leading" tails. That's if it didn't reduce enough. If it reduced too much, you can have honky, wine glass voices. I don't recommend 18, 6, 6 any more because it always produces borderline or unacceptable works. An...

Re: Cant record channels 2 and 3 in mixer only channel 1
DJm 900 Nexus is a stereo dance mixer. Where are you getting three channels from? Can I assume you connected the USB from the mixer to the computer? Oh, I get it. It's a 4 channel mixer assuming you're using the appropriate driver and software packages. It doesn't "look like" a stereo mixe...

If that really is a 78 record, you should be playing it with a 78 stylus. That will eliminate tons of noise and distortion with no software corrections at all. You should also be playing it at 78 if you're not doing that. There are desperation methods where you play at 78 at Some Other Speed and wit...

Re: Why did Amplify improve & clean my audio?
MP3 is a one-pass delivery medium. Do your production and editing in high quality, uncompressed formats and make the MP3 just before you post it on-line or submit for publication or deliver to an end-product client. There is no "open an MP3 and do production." The instant you do that, mul...

Re: Why did Amplify improve & clean my audio?
Glad you got it to work. Amplify has no noise reduction abilities. However, if your playback system is ratty, just making a wobbly show louder will seem to improve things.

Re: overlapping recordings
What I expect to happen is you get two sets of blue waves one over the other. Yes, they play at the same time. You can play them one at a time with the MUTE and SOLO buttons to the left. You can make individual, stand-alone sound files by selecting just one of them by clicking just above one of the ...

How did you connect your computer? Many machines only have pink Mic-In which is mono.
You can set Audacity for stereo in the Device Toolbar.

And you can also get stuck with mono in Windows. Set that in Windows Control Panels.

Re: URGENT - REMOVAL OF CAR NOISE FROM AUDIO
No. That's the end. Step One in Noise Reduction is to identify a segment of the work that's noise only—pure noise without the voices so the tool knows what to "chew on." There isn't enough performance in your sample to tell when they stop and start talking. There is no show. Time for a res...

Re: Help Getting Started?
In the simplest goals What's the eventual goal? Starting with the simplest goal doesn't do much for you because no matter how you analyze it, a single tone comes out one single frequency or energy blob. Duplicate a track with Control-D as many times as needed. They stack vertically. Delay tracks wi...
