Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain

There is another possibility. Some of these things, simple as they are, come with software drivers and packages. Check for that. We recently ran into problems where simple USB microphones were not rated for Windows 10. Yes, it is a lot like: "I'm sorry, this pencil is not rated for that paper.&...

Re: Having trouble with "drawing tool"

I expect the sound system to roll over the damaged parts or go into mute. Both of those may be better than what you're doing. If it's bad enough, it may start stuttering and that would not be goodgoodgoodgoodgoodgoodgood. alcohol and a soft cloth The distilled water technique works with human intera...

Re: Having trouble with "drawing tool"

After you got the show in the first pass, did you try to clean the CD? First level maintenance is to breathe on the data side and rub gently from the center out all the way around with an non-fabric-softened towel or handkerchief or bandanna. If it improves, but still no cigar, you could try washing...

Re: Having trouble with "drawing tool"

It's from an old Cd that they gave me, im guessing its the way it was recorded?? Did you Rip the CD or did you play it into the system and then re-record that? You may find that the player system can sound better because it automatically mutes the sound when it goes ever a segment of music it doesn...

Re: Reassembling a Track from _data folder?

http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recovery.html

Audacity carries the blue waves on the timeline as picture fragments inside the _DATA folder, so it's totally possible to get them out of step with the show.

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain

You can use an adapter cable such as this to connect the back of the Solo to the Line-In of the Mac. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RCAMiniStereo-650.jpg It's a little concerning that the Solo connected with USB is that noisy. That puts you in deficit even before you open your mouth. With either...

Re: security for people using WINDOWS XP.

Someone posted that an unprotected WinXP machine on an open internet connection has about a fifteen minute life expectancy. Much better if the machine is behind a WiFi Firewall and even better yet if it has current virus protection software. Air Gap Firewalls can be very effective as long as the oth...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain

I need to come back to this. My internet connection went on a nice holiday, so I'm catching up. It was even more entertaining than that. I went to a breakfast cafe thinking I was going to connect from there and theirs was down, too. Turns out a chunk of Los Angeles went dark for many hours.
