That's the activation setting value for Sound Activated Recording. If you don't have it checked, it doesn't do anything. You have the advantage that your room apparently doesn't do anything wrong. That leaves you with juggling your recording equipment. Piece of cake. People with bad or noisy rooms have a nightmare ahead of them.
