Re: Teaming up with an audio engineer?

Manassas Virginia
Cool. How's things at the battlefield?
I may be the only person you've ever met that's lived in both Virginia (Arlington) and Maryland (College Park).

Do you travel?

If you get a hit on the forum, we'll connect you.

Re: Recording through a headset

Windows. There's a lot of different Windows. Which one? Is the request really to record both sides? Skype? Chat? Communications and conferencing programs are best recorded using special software intended to do that. http://www.pamela.biz/en/products/ http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=25...

Re: my microphone is disabled until I speak | noise removal?

That's the activation setting value for Sound Activated Recording. If you don't have it checked, it doesn't do anything. Do you have a recording with dead holes between words, or a recording where all the words are smashed together? If all your natural gaps are just missing and the words are togethe...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?

I don't think that four-way is the AT2035 any more. I'm trying to judge from the curvature of the microphone body. I'm just a little farther away than the distance my hand makes with all the fingers splayed open That's about right. I'm spoiled by having a voice that can blast through soundproof wall...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?

I would wait for the Audio-Technica A2035. Too many people have good luck with those. That microphone requires your 48v Phantom Power to be turned on. Read the instructions. The Scarlett Solo sports the legendary Focusrite preamp See? I have no idea what that is, but it's legendary. Your raw supplie...

Re: Adjusting tone to slide up and down during clip

Then maybe you did it wrong. Changing the musical pitch of a tone or other sound is its job. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sliding_time_scale_pitch_shift.html Just because somebody else recently got into this: Changing the pitch of a sound is not the same as performing a pitch change. You can...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?

You have the advantage that your room apparently doesn't do anything wrong. That leaves you with juggling your recording equipment. Piece of cake. People with bad or noisy rooms have a nightmare ahead of them.
