Re: Audio not playing after I record it
That's our Check Engine light. It probably means Audacity either couldn't find or couldn't figure out how to use your speakers or headphone system. Sound Device Notes How did you record your audio piece? If you have a USB microphone, Audacity may be trying to send sound back out to it. No that doesn...

Re: "could not load file" didnt move anything windows 10
I noticed 4 atturio ciorciari AUP file name is apparently different from the folder above it. Did you expect those two to be the matched set? The names must exactly match for a show to open. You can open the AUP file in a text editor and read the first few lines. They will tell you what the original...

Re: "could not load file" didnt move anything windows 10
i saved the file and shut down my computer. my computer had to go through an update so i just let it shut down on its own time. OK, so you didn't shut down the computer until later. Do you know if the update had to restart? And just to cover it. You Opened the AUP file, not Import? Or double click ...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
We all boosted your 1-2-3 clip. It's way too low a volume for normal processing and filters. And yes, it still has to pass the peaks below -3dB specification before it goes to ACX. But that's later. We're working from a very artificial reading. Much better a short segment of real sentences and expre...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
background buzzz Background buzz is different from soft microphone ffffff. It's baby screaming on a jet. You can't tune it out and it can be obvious past the noise specification. That's why we were congratulating you for having a room-tone and relatively noise-free recording environment in your cur...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
While you're waiting for your new microphone, you might record an actual content sound clip and post it. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html You can probably go out to fifteen seconds or so (mono, not stereo) before the forum refuses to post it. I don't remember where the ...

Re: Recording through a headset
It wasn't always stable, though. Exactly correct. Skype is vicious about managing its sound services. That's the secret of its success. No matter how badly you mess up your sound channels, Skype always works. The down side is trying to get other sound programs to work in tandem with Skype. There ar...

Re: Adjust volume of sections of a track
There are ways to change the volume of the clipping damage. Clipping is one of the things you can do during a live performance that's permanent, and if it's bad enough, fatal. Audacity has Effect > Clip-Fix, but what that does, in a very brief segment of track, is guess what the clipped sound might ...

Re: Recording through a headset
There are certainly people out there recording both sides of a Skype conversation with Audacity. http://reellife.podomatic.com/ But they are digital celebrities. Most people fail. I did it in hardware. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PodCast_Studio_WS.jpg Skype on the right and Audacity with reco...
