Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
There's also an Everybody Knows you have to apply Sibilant Suppression to every voice work. SSSister SSSuzy SSSells SSShares in the SSStock Market. I begin to understand why now. You have to be legally deceased not to produce overly sharp SS sounds into microphones which boost crispness. Complicated...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
My personal preference is the USB connection. I adjusted the volume, applied a slightly aggressive noise reduction and it meets ACX. No further work needed. Attach 1 and 2. The XLR connection, in my opinion is too harsh and the sharp, tall blue waves keep me from a simple correction suite. It won't ...

Chain is Audacity for "Batch." It's also a logical sequence of equipment or devices. Microphone Stand and Boom > Pop and Blast filter > Dynamic (moving coil) Microphone > XLR Cable > Scarlett Solo > USB A-B interconnect cable > Computer. I'm attaching some new reads I did last night Wait [...

Re: Adjusting tone to slide up and down during clip
My world tends toward clear, simple recording with no apparent distortion (harder than you think). We should wait for an elf more familiar with special effects as a goal.

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
Remember when you go after noise with shotguns and loudly barking dogs, Noise Reduction also affects dialog. It's a juggling act not to make the voice sound funny. ACX has traps for that. Tight, wine-glass dialog with suspiciously dead silent gaps can be cause for rejection. ~~ There were only ever ...

Re: Recording through a headset
VERY LITTLE and most of the time, NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. For free. Given your Skype is properly updated and works correctly (see above list), Pamela (paid software) should do a terrific job. We had one (1) complaint about Pamela and that was from someone who hadn't read the instructions. I ne...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
I still wouldn't mind a fresh voice test with your new system; the one without the fan noise. I bet either of us can make that sound like a studio product.

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
How's this? (attached) I did need Noise Reduction and Volume Compression to make everything line up, but I'm not a fan of heavy processing. Yes, that's computer (or something) fan noise back there. It restricts the options because Noise Reduction must be stiffer than I like, not to pass ACX, but to ...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
if you level your audio to a -3dbs, dose not mean you will hit your target range of -18 to -23 RMS Steve designed an RMS setting tool should you decide to set that first instead of peaks, but no matter which direction you go, you still get stuck if your voice is thin and you can't hit loudness (RMS...
