There's a little down arrow to the left of the blue waves. You can switch the display to a number of different formats.

Re: Audio Scrubbing doesn't stop after releasing mouse butto
Everybody who comes over from either video editing or reel-to-reel editing is horrified that Audacity won't scrub. What Audacity does right now is Best-First-Pass. Not a finished tool.

Re: Could not Save Project. Perhaps Disk is Full
Sometimes Audacity will try to save Projects to the System or Applications folder. Change the export panel so it saves to your desktop.

What did you call it? Save the Project and call it a name with no punctuation marks in it. You can put the date in as 20160214. That's now (in Los Angeles).
Did that work?

Still. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.... Somebody shot a damaged performance and tried to cover it up. I'm sticking with that. You should get Production to submit a short test recording for acceptance. If somebody does that again, it will be two shows you can't use. There is one oth...

That is, if I can get them to open up. That's the limit right there. If you have to deform the mu-metal surround, you're dead. Fortunately, transformer hardly ever break. That's why it took so long to repair. "Are you sure you replaced the coupling caps?" Yes. Twice. We were also in the W...

It was out for a while. What did you do? Shampoo the carpets, wash the windows, dust the shelves, polish the doorknobs, and oil the hinges? I did look at the original time estimate and said to myself: "How long have you been doing this?" I sent out for extra fish and chips—wrapped in The L...

Re: recording through external mixer
Has this exact mixer/computer combination ever worked? My first guess is no. Most laptop Mic-In connections are super sensitive and mono, not stereo. This normally gives you crunchy, mono audio, not a clear, stereo dance sequence. What changed? Windows update? Newer Audacity? http://manual.audacityt...

Re: Something else that confounds me ...
Vacuum tubes weigh very little. They're mostly, you know, vacuum. But the surrounding stuff needed to make them work can weigh as much as a lorry/truck. If you can pick up your preamp with one hand (or it doesn't get warm in extended use) it's very likely not real. I found a picture I took of the su...
