Re: Converting my voice memo I tunes files to use on Audacit
Audacity versions have three significant numbers. The current one is 2.1.2. If you have any other combination (such as 2.12) then you may have a bogus, unsupported version. http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ You may wish to install the FFMpeg software add-on so Audacity will manage a much...

In other words composer/arranger software. Sometimes you can get away with playing the patch backwards. The hit at the join point is or should be zero and if the music is bland enough, nobody will notice. The other thing you can do is expand your search to an even and much longer musical phrase and ...

Re: Filtering out the music in a song
We're a volunteer forum for people to help each other use Audacity, not a production service. That and there's only a really tiny chance that anybody will be able to do your job, volunteer or not. If the sound track is mono (one blue wave rather than two), the only tool open to you is Effect > Equal...

We had a serious system reset a while ago. The forum was taken off-line. I wonder if that's where your preferences went.

Re: Noise Reduction
It's an SDC in an LDC housing. What's wrong with it? I swear I'm going to take it apart. Plugged into a Behringer UM2 preamp, it produces significantly non-linear waves. I put that down to the UM2, but now I'm not so sure. The examples.....are not on this machine. So it's a tiny microphone in a wei...

Re: Noise Reduction
You get less and less Newbie as we go. I don't think you need a whole lot of help. I think you got most of this nailed. Two different threads in one stack. @LP I don't think that was an offer for sale. Forum sales is not a good idea. I wanted to get a recommendation from someone who actually owned a...

Re: Playback is fast and skipping
Shut down the Mac. Unplug the microphone. Start. Listen for the opening Chong. Run Audacity and reset the recording to the built-in microphone with the device toolbar (opposite the microphone symbol). http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Mine says Built-In Microphone and 1 (Mono)...

Re: Looking for solutions to avoid Mouth noise ?
the 5 to 1 rule is starting to seem optimistic. One is scanning the work to see what needs to be done and Five is playing the finished work to make sure you didn't screw up. So there's 2/5 right there and we're not even editing yet. People do what you're doing all the time and you just need to know...
