Which Mac? Which version of the OS? Which microphone? Are you published anywhere with the sharp vocal tones that we can hear? If not, can you record a test and publish it here? We're interested in the first-pass, raw recording. No effects, no filters and no helping it out. Doesn't matter what it is....

Re: Playback is fast and skipping
It seems to be recording off of the internal mic, but skips and then won't record at all with my Apogee mic. Re: Noise Reduction

Which brings us to Gary Owens. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/GaryOwens.jpg Everybody thinks he was being stupid, comical and theatrical, but that's a real thing. You sluice some of your live voice up to your ear through your cupped hand to mix with everything else. The other ear can be one ...

Re: experiencing lag when software playthrough is activated

There is another way to force this to work. Effect >Change Tempo. That should change the duration of the song and nothing else.

And a studio. Walk in, relax, announce the work, collect the finished basic track and go home. How is that different from what you were doing?
One poster had been recording in a good studio and wanted to start doing it from home. They have no idea.....

Re: Noise Reduction
I think now you're into "What kind of car should I buy." Try out the tools and options into a good sound system (or good headphones) and see which you like. It's pretty easy to overdo the stereo conversion thing and you should avoid wide left-right splits between the performers. Both of th...
