Re: De Essing on Audacity

Found it. This is a posting from May 2015 before a lot of our tools became available. Over the course of several weeks, all the problems got resolved and I believe the poster is cranking out book after book. It had an Essing problem which I cured with simple equalization. Attach 1: Overly Crisp Clip...

Re: Bad Recorded Audio

Actually, the AUP file is the instructions for the project. The actual sound is in the _DATA folder of the same name. You probably have trouble with Windows Enhanced Services. Windows machines aren't generic, do-everything computers any more. They come out of the box all set for corporate conference...

Re: Should one take out all breathing sounds?

I would probably draw the line at someone asthmatically gasping for air between each sentence. Nobody can comfortably listen to that.

Re: Should one take out all breathing sounds?

The metaphor for this is someone on the other side of the kitchen table telling you a story. I can hear most people breathe when they do that. The ACX note on this is to remove distracting noises. I think hearing someone take a deep breath before telling you an important message is part of the theat...

I think after the forum lets you post without an elf helping you. Your posts are moderated now, until the software thinks you're probably not going to try and sell us Male Enhancing Products. You're not, are you? We would rather you don't go back and change earlier posts. Given the forum workflow, n...

Re: Recording from PlayAcoustic via USB

Just to cover the top level failure first, did you connect the device USB, wait a bit and then start Audacity? Audacity checks for new devices when it starts.

You can also try Transport > Rescan...

Re: Podcasting with Behringer U-Phoria UMC404

Recording channels - 1 (Mono) Chances are good that setting will ignore the right channel or second microphone. The UMC404 isn't a mixer. You can't assign microphones to left, right or mix (that I know of). What you're intended to do is record stereo which will give you you on the left and the gues...
