Re: Recording Slightly Too Fast

You probably have that upside down. If the playback is too fast, that usually means the performance was recorded too slow. That would make more sense as having the computer not be able to keep up with real-time data is pretty likely, particularly if you have other sound damage like repeating phrases...

Re: Setting a single track to all the same volume

I realized that my mic level is incredibly high while the other players are barely audible. That usually means you're not really recording the other players. The software is recording your microphone and the other player's echo cancellation and processing leakage. That's what special game recording...

Re: Removing Vocals from A Track - Is This possible??

Vocal removal is all of those individual YouTube steps (split, invert...) rolled into one convenient tool.

Re: How to convert a voice to just a tone to reveal the pitc

All you need is the low pass filter. Forget the vocoder. As you pass 3000 on the way down in experimental steps, the words should be harder and harder to understand. Pick a higher rolloff than the default 6. Go for 18. 15000 is sparkly, clear FM radio, 5000 is AM radio, 3000 is telephone quality. Vo...

Re: Noise Reduction

The split thing is interesting, but I reduced the volume of the rhythm guitar very slightly and mixed them into a mono performance. I guess this is where I'm supposed to apply stereo effects, but I didn't. OK. Next. I want to hear where you resolve the seventh-dimished, hoo-haa and go for the major ...

Re: Recording Time Extra Long

Is the player auto-reverse? Do you stop the computer recording when the tape runs out? Then the tape machine is running at the wrong speed. It's also possible you have the tape on the recording twice, again this is based on an Auto-Reversing machine. I had a tape machine with two reversing modes. On...

Re: Removing or hiding Vocals

If they're mono, or two-track mono (two blue waves but the same thing on both), you don't. All the vocal tricks work from a good or perfect quality stereo performance. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/vocal_reduction_and_isolation.html There's a long list of reasons the vocal tools may not work,...

Re: Need help with extending the tail of a song to make a th

If you take any of the effects in that series too far, the sound turns to trash, but if you only need a nudge.

Re: Noise Reduction

It's 2MB. So it's about 10 seconds of Stereo WAV.

Since we're not doing analysis on the file, you can export good quality (128-256) MP3 and do much better.

Or the usual third party file hosting services.
