Re: What to Do with Data Files??
A Project is not an .exe file. This is a Project. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg You double-click the AUP file and it opens Audacity and tells it what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder. If you saved the show after editing and production, the chances of res...

Re: Optimal bit depth setting with Yeti mic?
48000 as a fuzzy generality is a video sound sample rate. 44100 is the Audio CD sample rate. The earth will not stop going around if you cross them. Most video editors will accept 44100 without even blinking. However the show will be missing one tiny conversion if you get them right. Most of my soun...

Re: Cleaning up noise, static
You should get us a little closer. Post a 10 sec WAV clip of the show. Pick a segment with one or two voices and a space where they stop talking for second or so or take a breath. This is the formal document on posting clips. The forum will stop you if you try to make the clip too long. You can't po...

Re: Fixing/balancing out levels in (mono) recording?
So you're after transcription quality. Good enough to write down the words without producing an entertainment quality show. Yes, it might do that. Many people want us to rescue their show.
There's almost no chance it will do that.

And over a minute for normal Audacity 2.1.2 startup on an SSD system? That is very wrong.Yes I have a ssd, and no I don't have any running antivirus.
Time to abandon conventional troubleshooting.
Do you or have you ever edited your Registry?

I mean KMG365.
Chances are really good "correcting" a show like this is just going to give pumping, honking trash.

Is your hard-drive light going nuts while Audacity is trying to start? How full is the drive? Absent any known problems, I would remove Audacity and Restart. Install a fresh download from here. http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ Part way through, it will ask you if you want to save any of...

Re: Fixing/balancing out levels in (mono) recording?
I have a downloaded podcast of a phone interview and the interviewer is many times as loud as the interviewee. Right. That's what happens when someone tries to use a personal recorder application on a cellphone. It only gets the host, not the guest. What of the guest you can hear is because of echo...
